About Lily Lynch:

Lily is a foreign affairs writer. Most often, her work can be found in the New Statesman and New Left Review. Her work can also be found in places like UnHerd, the Baffler, Noema, and Liberties. She is currently an Ideas Workshop fellow and an associate of the Alameda Institute. In 2025, she received an award from the LA Press Club for Best Hard News Feature, and had an essay she wrote for the Baffler, “Go West”, selected for Best American Essays.

While living in Serbia, she co-founded Balkanist Magazine, and also served as the publication’s editor-in-chief. She is from California and was previously a resident of Belgrade, but she recently relocated to Istanbul.
